FAPA Young Professional Group

The Young Professional Group was an affiliate organization of FAPA which was firstly established in 2003 and primarily aimed at young adults. The organization is in many ways similar to FAPA, including its goals but the main difference is that it was designed especially for young individuals. The Young Professional Group promotes Taiwan’s right to peace and democracy throughout the international community. The group was established in the context of an international crisis which threatened the independence and democracy of Taiwan. The People’s Republic of China sought to annex Taiwan to the mainland by using military intimidation and diplomatic isolation. The Young Professional Group had become involved in promoting better chances for Taiwan on the international stage by claiming its right to independence and democracy as the main way to maintain peace in the Far East. The organization worked in close cooperation with the main FAPA associations in the US, Canada and later on in Europe.
